How Mensa South Africa handles the details you give us when you RSVP for the National Annual Gathering 2027. Last updated June 2026.
Who is responsible
Mensa South Africa is the responsible party (data controller) for the information collected through this RSVP form. Questions about your data: nag2027@mensa.org.za.
What we collect and why
When you RSVP we collect your name, email, phone number, Mensa membership number and national group, the names and dietary needs of any guests you add, and whether you need accommodation. We use this only to organise and communicate about NAG 2027: planning numbers, catering, badges and event updates.
Dietary and allergy information can reveal health or religious details (special personal information under POPIA). We collect it only if you choose to provide it, use it solely for catering, and ask that you only add a guest's dietary details with their agreement.
Where it's stored
Your RSVP is stored in a private Google Sheet that only the event organisers can open. This site is hosted on Netlify and the form data is processed by Google (Google Sheets). Both providers may process data outside South Africa under their standard data-protection terms. Your details are not sold or shared for marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep your RSVP details until 6 months after the event, after which they are deleted, unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to its use, at any time. Email nag2027@mensa.org.za and we'll action it. If your details are saved on your own device by the form's "remember me" feature, you can clear them with the "Not you? Clear" link on the RSVP form.
