A long weekend in Franschhoek
The National Annual Gathering is the main event on the Mensa South Africa calendar: the one weekend a year when members from around the country, plus a few visiting Mensans from abroad, get together to talk, argue and catch up.
For 2027 we're heading to Franschhoek, in the Cape Winelands about an hour from Cape Town, over the September long weekend — four days and three nights at The Franschhoek Hotel, with vineyards, mountains and very good food and wine on the doorstep. There'll be a full programme of member talks and workshops, a couple of long dinners, and time to get out and explore between sessions.
